True to form, our due date has come and gone with no child. Lily held out for an additional nine days, a scenario unlikely to repeat itself. However, that does not mean that we are done with waiting, which in a way is nice. We've pretty much cleared our calendars for these days (had to be prepared in case Caroline was actually on time), and are just spending our time hanging out together. Dinner out, strolls through the VA, trips to the garden and extra photo ops are all part of the fun.
I have made a big deal about all the squash in the garden (there are a couple of butternuts pictured below), but we've got nice melons too! The sugar baby watermelons are ripe now, with one pictured below. Its got some seeds, but in exchange you get an added sweetness that only comes from vine ripened fruit. There are also quite a few cantaloupe that will be ripe soon, can't wait to try one of them!
