Snow Day

We all ended up getting dismissed from school/work early today as a result of the snow, and there is nothing like a good old fashioned SNOW DAY!

Gator was ready...

Caught off guard....Lily has the sweetest smiles :)
When posing, she has some nice super hero's!
CJ hadn't warmed up to the camera yet.....
 Where's my tennis ball!?!?!
Just as long as its not the yellow kind....

I think you can officially say that she has warmed up now!
There it is!!!  THROW IT!!  THROW IT!!  THROW IT!!
Good thing there weren't any frozen flag poles around
 Super hero tandem

We hope our bird friends are surviving this especially cold winter.

TJO

I reminded Lily about the significance of today, as we were spending the afternoon together.
When we got home, I told Caroline what happened 9 years ago today.  As her 3 year old mind was processing, she brought her hands to her mouth and started to cry.  Lily, sitting close by, said in her perfectly sweet maternal voice, 'It's okay, Caroline, he's safe with God now. You don't have to be sad.'

Perfectly said Lily..and so true.

Dad, you are thought about everyday. I love and miss you.

Garbage Disposal

So the line of appliances that have busted in the ridiculously short period of time this house has been built just increased by one....again.  We can now add the garbage disposal to the list that includes the ceiling fan, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and garage door.  The ole' Badger that was under the sink in the first picture was fairly loud, ran on a measly 1/2 horsepower and in the last days of its life it leaked like a sieve.  Now, our new InSinkErator has a whopping 3/4 horsepower, runs so quiet you can hardly tell its on, and doesn't leak.  (Note: this last part is as impressive for the new disposal as it was for me to install it correctly!)

Pee-Yo!

Sadly, Caroline doesn't call it "pee-yoo" any more, but I did have the opportunity to enjoy her company today because the CSC had a water main burst due to the arctic temperatures of late.  We pretty much just hung out, which is all you really need to do.  It brought back memories of getting to stay at home with her so much during our year in Winston.
