...and then again, some are! In my wanderings through Simferopol today, I came across the "eternal flame," a monument to the Great Patriotic War (what you may know as WWII), though it is not pictured here. The first picture features some trees in a really beautiful park I found. An amazing thing about this city is that it is dirty, dusty and busy, but it has huge, beautiful trees growing up and down every road. I'm not sure how they get water since the sliver of ground surrounding them that is not paved is packed and baked down. And yes, I did find a large wooden statue of Puss n' Boots!
