Some iPhones Pictures

These are some pictures I took this afternoon at the Crimean-American College (where I'm teaching). This is a small garden located behind the school. It used to be part of an elementary school in the Soviet days. When it would rain, the children would be allowed to play in the shelters (there were several similar to the one pictured below). You can see the red star remnants of the old Soviet days in another picture...this is a small bridge that runs across a creek. I am also in a picture beside a wild rose bush. Finally, the bench is where I took a wonderful 20 minute snooze this afternoon!

32 weeks

This picture was taken several weeks ago at Connor and Megan's wedding in Charleston. Dave and I had such a great time going back to my old stomping
grounds and catching up with all our NoVa peeps....not to mention enjoying a gorgeous wedding of two great people! Admittedly my picture taking
initiative was more than lacking and we came away with only a few pics...so

28 weeks

We've not been up to too much around here.
I'm 28 weeks along now, she's still practicing
her Jujitsu...and we still have no name yet!

Easter Morning

Though I was post-call, I still made it to church (pretty sure I stayed awake for the sermon) and more importantly had the chance to enjoy family time and such amazing weather. Lily was a champ waiting for that Easter bunny to come, considering it took him until the afternoon to get here.

Happy Easter!

Our Easter morning started off with eggs, bacon and monkey bread. After breakfast we went to church at Grandview, and then came home for a bite of lunch and a nap.....which was when that sneaky Easter bunny decided to visit Lily! Here she is waking up from her nap, getting dressed (thanks for the dress Nana), and heading off on an egg-tastic, Easter afternoon!

Good Friday, Indeed!

Glorious sunshine, it truly felt heaven sent today. These pics are from just one of the many endeavors we embarked on today. Lily LOVES to help her Daddy, especially when it comes to work outside. We were adding to the day lily bed and our Lily was eager to help. She's pretty darn good with that shovel!

Oh, and for those of you who know my daughter, can you believe she is wearing a hat!!!! When I asked her to put it on, she not only put it on without a fuss but KEPT it on!!!! I know this seems insignificant, but this is truly the first day this has even happened. I was SO excited. Isn't it funny what a parent's world gets reduced to...

And on a side note, for those of you who haven't seen me in awhile, this is me about a week ago (24weeks). We are having another girl, and I have a feeling (or a kicking from inside) that this one is going to be a handful! (no names, yet)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Most of you know that St. Patty's day holds a special place with us, considering Dave and I met on this festive day. What's shocking is that it was 10 years ago this year!!!! I had no idea he was that old!!!

We celebrated a bit early this past weekend by participating in the Chasing Snakes 10krun/4k walk to benefit some of the local churches' community efforts. I think it goes without saying that we chose the walk this year. Lily did great and got a handful of extra beads which are by far one of her favorite things. Lambie, of course, had to come for the ride. We were just so thankful that the rain held off for such a fun morning! May the luck of the Irish be with you! Oh yeah, just as a reminder Lily was born on 07-07-07....

Catching up

Well Mrs. Mattie took another two week vacation, which of course meant that we called in the troops so to speak. Nana and Papa graciously came down to provide stellar grandchild care for a week. We loved having them as usual and as always are so appreciative!

They had many adventures throughout their week. Luckily, I was finally not working on a Saturday and was able to join them on a quick trip to Asheville. Dave was unfortunately out of town. Tupelo Honey Cafe, The Biltmore, the Grove Park Inn and the Mellow Mushroom were all on the agenda. The pics are from downtown Asheville, The Biltmore and the last is on the porch of the Grove Park. (Big thanks to Anna for the free passes to the Biltmore!!)

Recipe for Wild Time

Flour....check (and some even in the bowl)! 2 year old....check (that's 2 and a half Daddy!) Block tower.....check! Dog with cone head.....check! Sugar....obviously!

At this point we interpreted the "teaspoons size rounded balls" as more like guidelines than rules.


The outcome...one cool 2 and a half year old with crab sunglasses and delicious sugar cookies!
